You have the right to object or to revoke your objection to receiving telephone solicitations pursuant to the Telephone
Consumer Protection Act of 1991.
Registering your telephone number to the National Do-Not-Call list is one way to minimize telemarketing calls. The national Do-Not-Call database is
maintained by the Federal government. To register to the national Do-Not-Call database go to www.donotcall.gov.
To register by telephone, you may call 1-888-382-1222, for TTY call 1-866-290-4236. You must call from the phone number you wish to register. You can register
your phone number for free, and it will remain on the national Do-Not-Call list for five years. You may re-enter your number on the list when the five years have
passed, and you may remove your number from the list at any time.
The Do-Not-Call registry does not prevent all unwanted calls. It does not cover the following:
- calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship;
- calls for which you have given prior written permission;
- calls which are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;
- calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.
State Do-Not-Call Lists
Additionally, many states now have statewide Do-Not-Call lists for residents in their respective states. Click on your state below for more information. If you do
not see your state listed, contact your state's consumer protection office or public utilities commission to see if the state has such a list. Contact information
for these offices usually can be found in the blue pages or government section of your local telephone directory.
